Frequently asked questions
What is Greenleaf?
Greenleaf is a free kanban-style habit tracker with To Do, In Progress and Done columns, built for eco-friendly actions like recycling, composting and reducing plastic use.
Which eco habits can I track?
Each habit belongs to one of five categories: recycling, less plastic, composting, energy saving, or community events such as clean-ups.
How do I move a habit to Done?
Drag the card into the Done column, or press the arrow button on the card. A gentle fireworks animation plays and a new leaf appears on your tree.
Where is my data stored?
Your habits are saved in your own browser using local storage. They stay on your device and are not sent to a server, so they will not appear on other browsers or devices.
Why do small eco habits matter?
In 2018 the United States generated about 292.4 million tons of municipal solid waste, and only 32.1 percent of it was recycled or composted, according to the U.S. EPA. About half went to landfill. Habits like sorting recycling and composting food scraps move waste out of that half.
